Finally, it’s here!
Nevertheless, my FREE ebook, “How To Make A Website With WordPress – No Coding or Design Skills Required“, was released a few days ago.
If you would like a copy, you can download it from the homepage, or, sometime in the near future, I’ll finish publishing the online version on that same page.
For now, the only way to get it is to opt in with your email address and the download link will be sent to you.
Who It’s For
This ebook is mainly targeted to those who are new to building a website with WordPress.
WordPress has become the predominant platform for the DIY website builder due to its ease of use; its full list of features; and its extensible functionality through the use of plugins.
Therefore, I felt it was fitting to write a ebook based on this platform that has the potential to help millions.
Here are just a few of the kinds of people who might benefit from using this guide to build a website.
- Small business owners
- Entrepreneurs both online and offline
- College graduates seeking employment
- Artist who want more exposure online
- Musicians who want to build a following
- Authors who want to showcase their work
- Any organization that needs a website
- Individuals who want a website or blog
Basically, whether you’re an individual, an organization, or even a Fortune-500 company; you can use WordPress to build a simple or complex website to support your online endeavors.
There are 10 simple steps that will walk you through the entire process, step-by-step. Here they are with a short explanation of each:
Step 1: Learn The Basics.
Before we get started building your site, we’ll go over some key concepts about how websites work. We’ll take a short look at the main components of a website, as well as introduce you to the WordPress platform.
Step 2: Register A Domain Name and Get Web Hosting.
I’ll talk briefly about how to choose the right domain name for your site. Then I’ll walk you through the process of registering the domain and signing up for web hosting.
Step 3: Install WordPress.
Using a little piece of software on your server’s control panel, I’ll show you how
to install WordPress with just one click. I’ll walk you through the installation process, along with the steps you need to go through before and after installation.
Step 4: Install a WordPress theme.
It can be difficult to find a theme that’s both free AND looks good, but I’ve done exactly that for you. I’ll help you install the completely free and mobile-ready Pytheas WordPress theme along with a child theme that makes it perform and look even better.
Step 5: Install WordPress plugins.
There are thousands of plugins to choose from, and it’s hard to wade through them all and figure out which ones you really need. I’ll show you exactly which plugins to install, which ones to deactivate, and which ones to delete altogether.
Step 6: Add Some Content.
Without text and images, your website will look empty and lonely. You’ll need to know exactly how to add and manage your own content. I’ll walk you through the process of creating posts, pages, slides and highlights; so that you’ll be able to do it on your own.
Step 7: Configure WordPress.
Right out of the box, WordPress runs just fine. However, there are some minor adjustments that need to be made in order to help your website to perform even better, and look better at the same time.
Step 8: Configure Your Theme.
Every WordPress theme is different, and needs a bit of configuration after you install it. The Pytheas theme is no different, and I’ll show you exactly how to manage the options associated with this theme.
Step 9: Configure Your Plugins.
Plugins add functionality to your site, but if you don’t configure them after installation, they won’t be of any use. I’ll walk you through the steps necessary for getting your plugins to work right and so they enhance the functionality of your website.
Step 10: Design Your Website.
One of the secrets to building a website that looks like it’s been designed by a professional is choosing the right color scheme. This might seem like an impossible task, but I’ll introduce you to a couple of tools that make it dead simple.
Creating a professional logo is also a great way to build your brand and establish trust. You might think that this task is better left to a professional, but I’ll show you a simple, yet highly effective way to create a logo that you’ll be proud of.
Building a website with WordPress can be an intimidating process that keeps many people from realizing their dreams.
This book is meant to break down those barriers by providing a simple guide that anyone can use, no matter what their ability level is.
All you have to do is follow along and use your mouse and keyboard – “no coding or design skill required”.
